CrossFit Workshop: Striking

The CrossFit Workshop: Striking is a single-day immersive experience that teaches participants how to increase overall fitness, core strength, rotational speed and power by incorporating striking drills into CrossFit workouts. Strikes are some of the most functional movements because punching and kicking with true power, speed and accuracy require people to utilize their entire body. This is why fighters are some of the most well-conditioned and powerful athletes in the world.

With this in mind, the Striking Workshop is designed to teach participants to incorporate basic mixed-martial-arts, boxing and self-protection striking concepts into workouts. The course also teaches attendees to program these skills into workouts for greater variance. All this is done in a non-contact format that focuses on proper technique by using shadow boxing, focus mitts, kick shields and a heavy bag.

Learning objectives

The Striking Workshop teaches participants to:

  1. Achieve a fighter's fitness level.
  2. Add variety to CrossFit workouts.
  3. Throw proper strikes and combinations.
  4. Understand the role of the kinetic chain and the posterior chain in supporting athletic performance and fighting.
  5. Increase the speed and power of strikes, regardless of experience.
  6. Learn proper striking mechanics.
  7. Safely run a training session involving striking skills and drills.
  8. Learn an essential self-protection skill.
  9. Effectively use shadow boxing, focus mitts and a heavy bag.




Sent electronically one to two weeks after course completion to the email address used for registration.


This program is only offered in English. In some countries, a translator is provided. Lecture and small-group practical sessions are translated in real time. Courses with a translator are specified in the “Language” section from the event registration link. Generally, translators are used in Latin America and some countries in Europe and Asia.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Upon successful completion of this course, a Certified CrossFit Trainer may claim seven CEUs towards their continuing education.
